It's hard work gathering all those pine cones for winter and even the squirrels have to stop and eat lunch once in awhile. If you ever see this, they can chew through the whole cone eating the nuts in a matter of a few seconds. Once you see them eating, you'll understand why they need so many stored for the winter months.
